Trail Repair
« on: April 05, 2009, 01:01:32 AM »

Are all of the trails going to be repaired to the point they are no longer difficult?  Will their still be difficult trails?  I know alot of the bad spots are being fixed but is their a reason why?  Did the rock coming up Brummet Knob get fixed?

I'll post what I know.......I'll let Mark post the details.....there will still be difficult trails, just the ones that are becoming extremely difficult will have regular maintanance on the most difficult section's......... We all need to realize we must and will comply with TDEC standards, and Brimstone simply can't allow the trails to become so bad that standards aren't being met, also 80% of riders don't want all the trails to become so bad that they tear their machines up, they'll stop coming.........As far as I know the rock on Brummit will remain, main area's of maintanance will be water crossings and mud hole's that drain into creeks and such.......there will still be plenty of easy, moderate and difficult trails for everyone, however the trails will have to be watched and fixed on a regular basis.

I can understand that.  I had heard that alot of the main trails and some of the side trails would fixed and graveled due to the new wells, logging, and mining in the area.  But regular trail maintenance is good and needs to be done.

We were there Sat. and the maintrence that is being done is only in the places that really needed it. The rock on T5 is a good example it was getting to the point of being a extreme section and alot of people would turn around since it was on a blue trail. Went thru there on Sat. and it was a welcome sight. Smiley

Trail 5 was one of my favorite places to go...was sad to see the rock section go Grin  my sister-in-law was glad to have a new path.   Grin

there is plenty more extreme stuff for me to play on though Grin cant wait to get back down there.

We've been riding up here all week and hit most of the red trails. 87 wasn't too bad. However someone may want to reclassify 89 from blue to red. Just my 2 cents...

Yep its getting bad in the one spot. But there is a way around the worst part, as you come up to the rocky section there is a trail on your left that will take you up and around that part.
